Funeral Service at St. Michael's Church, The Square, Castlepollard today (Friday) at 2 o'clock Private internment for family takes place in Kilcumney Churchyard following the Service. The Very Reverend Matthew Byrne, former Dean of Kildare, pre-deceased by his wife Weena, beloved husband and soul-mate of The Reverend Olivia Williams (The Rectory, Carlow). Deeply mourned by his wife, son Michael, daughter Graine, sisters Jo and Agnes, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, former parishioners in Manchester, Inchicore, Kildare, Greystones, pupils of The Kings Hospital School, former colleagues in the British and Irish Armies, BBC and RTÉ and a broad circle of friends. Funeral Service today, Monday at 2pm in St. Mary's Church, Carlow followed by private cremation.
