BATES (née Phelan), Kitty (Catherine), - November 13, 2014, (Goatstown, Dublin, and late of Riverview, Ferrybank, Waterford), aged 93 years, died peacefully in the loving care of the Carna Nursing Home, Connemara, Galway. Predeceased by her husband Gerard (in 2000) and her son James (in 1981). Mourned by her daughters Jane, Mary, and Catherine, and their spouses Peter Keane, Peter Archer, and Bob Filart, grandchildren Rachel (Griffiths), Natalie (Ballantyne), Rebecca and Matthew Filart, great-grandchildren Emily, Sophia, and Alexander Ballantyne, and Theo Griffiths. Much loved aunt to nieces and nephews of the Phelan and Bates families. Fondly remembered by her extended family in Ireland and overseas and by her friends and neighbours in Dublin and Connemara. Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum, on Tuesday November 25 from 3 to 6 pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday November 26 at 10.30 am at Holy Cross Church, Dundrum, followed by interment at Shanganagh Cemetery. Oscar will be reposing at his home today (Tuesday). Funeral leaving his home at 1pm tomorrow (Wednesday) for Requiem Mass at 1.30pm in St. Mary's Church Ramelton.
