MEE (John) (Sandyford) (Died November 26, 2008) - On the occasion of John's First Anniversary Vera, Gavin, Julie and his extended family wish to thank most sincerely all who sympathised and supported us in our great loss; to all who attended removal, funeral Mass and burial; to all who sent Mass Cards, Mass enrolements, floral tributes and personal letters of sympathy. Special thanks to Fr. Ralph Egan and Fr. Joe Kennedy of St. Paul's, Mount Argus who officiated at his removal and funeral Mass; to the doctors and nursing staff of St. Vincent's Private Hospital for their excellent care during his short illness. We especially wish to acknowledge the fitting tribute shown him by his beloved Garda Boat Club (of which he was former president and life member), the Boat Club flag draped on his coffin; the oarsmen who formed a Guard of Honour and acted as pallbearers on both days; members of his club and wider rowing community who attended; tributes paid by Club President Ass. Comm. Dermot Jennings and also his close friend Dr. Ivor Kenny for his moving words. Special thanks to Blackrock Garda Division who arranged the Garda escort on both days; to the large number of his former colleagues serving and retired including Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy and retired Commissioners who attended; also members of Stackstown Golf Club, H.S.E. staff and colleagues of Vera and Julie, neighbours and many friends and relatives. To all please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions A dear husband, father and brother. He is greatly missed.
